Terrain Vague
Terrain Vague is an ongoing wine label collaboration with creative director turned natural wine maker Thomas Olliver.
All of thomas's wines are produced with a low intervention approach, using indigenous yeasts and no added sulphites.
The name "Terrain Vague" can be literally translated as "wavy land", but the true meaning of it in French is Wasteland, a reference to the initial vineyard which was almost abandoned. We knew we wanted to create labels that didn’t feel traditional and that really pushed the envelope.
I decided to play with the idea of waves to represent the vine pattern viewed from above and add a little house or Cazote to help tell the story. Each label is connected to the next, telling us the story of the wine and its maker in a minimal and poetic way.
